2009 BUSINESS PLAN COMPETITION
ONE CATEGORY, ONE AWARD
The top Top prize is $10,000, with one runner-up prize of $1,000.
SCHEDULE
April 15 (4 PM latest) — Due date for Executive Summary consisting of a two-page business plan and one-page financial summary (3 pages total)
April 21 — Announcement of finalists, with a maximum of 6.
May 28 (4 PM latest) — Final Business Plans due at SWCI. Eight copies of each and a maximum of 10 single sided pages.
June 4 — Final Presentations. Winners announced at 3 PM
ELIGIBILITY
- The current or proposed business must be physically located within the municipalities of Cavendish, Chester, Ludlow, Springfield, Weathersfield and Windsor, Vermont
- Plans may be submitted for proposed start-ups or existing businesses with annual revenue of less than $500,000.
- Preference will be given to those plans that propose the creation of new jobs in Southern Windsor County
- Businesses or proposed businesses must be for profit organizations
- Close examination will be given to the management team and/or owners strength, enthusiasm, experience and time together
- Close examination will be given to the previous business experience of the applicant
- Preference will be given to applicants with a demonstrated need
REGISTRATION
To register for the 2009 SWCI Business Plan Competition, please submit an Executive Summary containing the following information:
- name of company
- name of owner(s)
- experience of the owner(s)
- description of the product or service you intend to or are now providing
- explanation of how the prize money would be used
- list of your other funding sources
- description of the market your product or service is for
- description of how you will market your product or service
- number of current or proposed full-time equivalent (FTE) positions your company would employ through the next five years
- description of your profit model
